The Ou Stokery Restaurant was the final leg of our lifelong dream for the farm and came to live in July 2017.
The vision of the restaurant was to provide a better working environment for our farm workers. Executive Chef Daniël Vercuiel’s passion for people and good food made him a perfect fit to lead this amazing team.
At the restaurant, we aim to serve as fresh and local food as possible. The variety on the blackboard is a showcase of Daniël’s selection of meats that are smoked weekly on site and paired with sides to perfection. Our floor manager is Authur Kadema, originally from Zimbabwe, also known at Pigalle restaurant as King Arthur.
He impressed both Deon & Mariëtte so much when he served them there back in 2016 that they approached him to join the team and look after the service and training of the staff – today he is part of the “family” and lives on the farm.
All liquor products served in the restaurant is made in the “Ou Stokery” building and no products, wine, beer etc. is allowed to be brought in.
