Dear friends of Carl Everson and Opstal
It is with great excitement and pleasure that I can announce that the 2013 vintage of our Carl Everson Chenin Blanc will be released to the public on 12 May 2014.
After the great success we had with our maiden Platter Guide 5* awarded 2012 vintage, we are more excited than ever to roll out the 2013 vintage.
As happens with spontaneous fermented wines and the difference in conditions each season the 2013 is not exactly the same as the 2012. That is not to say it’s inferior in quality, it’s actually more exciting. We still used the same priceless 33 yr old Chenin vines on our farm with the same practices and principles in the winery. The 2013 shows a bit more freshness on the nose, but still has that complex and multi-dimensional palette. We once more expect great things from this wine.
Because you showed interest or bought some of our 2012 vintage we would like to give you the opportunity to jump the queue this year.
So, not only will we be able to get the wine to you before the actual release date, but you also have a chance to reserve a certain amount of cases for the year on allocation.
Although we do have a little more stock available than with the 2012 it still is limited and much sought after.
We will only require payment on what and when you order the wine of course.
The trade price is R85 including Vat
I will in time (probably from mid May) get around to taste the new vintage with each of you in person, but although we finished taking in grapes this past week there is still lots to do in the winery and thus I can’t really get away at the moment…
Warm Opstal regards
